2013-06-21: Impregnability
  • Characters under effects of Impregnability (Dwarf racial) will now be able to hit monsters.
  • It is now possible to toggle Impregnability in combat.



We would like to remind that any usage of 3rd party programs in game is strictly prohibited and may result in penalties and/or temporary character bans.


2013-06-20: Bugfixes - 17.06.2013
  • Previous version of Protect system has been re-implemented; the players now have 95% chance to be protected and the system iterates over every entity in a chain of protects.
  • Failure to protect someone for any reason will now be accompanied by a relevant message.
  • Fixed an issue with FireFly familiar not returning items after death in a PvP battle.



2013-06-17: Romantic Firefly
A Firefly showed up in Arkijah city. It wants to make a romantic evening for its loved and needs your help. Help the Firefly, and it will become your familiar. Hurry - the Firefly will fly away at the end of June. But, if it becomes your familiar, it will remain with you forever.


Heresy is now a PvP event. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (14-16 June), Heresy quest will be active.

- Heretics will no longer be outlaw, but will instead receive special avatar;
- Durability of items in the quest zone will not change (potions will be used up, however)




The Pet system has undergone the following changes:
  • It is now possible to own any number of pets, it is however still not possible to have two pets of the same kind, sorry;
  • The Elixir of Youth potion price has been reduced to 5 platinum;
  • The Elixir of Youth only affects the pet which is currently active;
  • When summoned the Health Bar of pet will show the age of the pet, the lower it is the less time pet has left;
  • When summoned the Mana Bar of pet will indicate the current level of Energy the pet has;
  • Is is no longer necessary (or possible) to feed your pet; nor will it try to snatch stuff out of your hands;
  • You may change the name of every pet of yours free of charge once;
  • The combat level of a pet can never be lower than the level of its owner;
  • Pet level may now raise far beyond the level of its owner (up to 9,999);
  • The formulas for experience needed for pets to gain levels and the gold needed to actually teach them stuff in a Pet Guild have been improved;
  • The amount of damage dealt by a pet depends on its level with a Pet Guild;
  • It is not possible to switch pets mid-fight;
  • Pets regenerate 1 point of energy every minute (up to a maximum of 100). The Energy is spent on some of their abilities.
  • Chance to succeed for the Active Pet Skill is 25%. On-death skills work every time provided the pet has enough Energy.

We have added a whole inventory of new pets (which mostly combine the combat ability of one existing pet with the on-death skill of another). They can be accessed by buying the usual Summon Pet item. We hope you enjoy making friends!

Wolf
  • Combat skill: Dead Grip. The victim is 15% less likely to resist combat spells.
  • On-death skill (PVP): Brings the owner back to life with full Life and Mana. Energy: 100.
  • On-death skill (PVE): Rescues the owner by dragging her out of a fight. Energy: 100.
Manul
  • Combat skill: Blindness. The victim is 15% less likely to hit with combat spells and physical attacks.
  • On-death skill (PVP): Brings the owner back to life with full Life and Mana. Energy: 100.
  • On-death skill (PVE):Brings the owner back to life with full Life and Mana. Energy: 50.
Arctic Fox
  • Combat skill: Topple. The victim is 15% less likely to evade physical attacks.
  • On-death skill (PVP): Brings the owner back to life with full Life and Mana. Energy: 100.
  • On-death skill (PVE): Brings back the items lost by owner if she dies. Energy: 33.
Genie
  • Combat skill: Grant Wish. A random debuff (Blindness, Topple, Dead Grip) is inflicted upon the target.
  • On-death skill (PVP): Brings the owner back to life with full Life and Mana. Energy: 100.
  • On-death skill (PVE): Rescues the owner by dragging her out of a fight. Energy: 50.
The new Pet system will go live after a server restart on 29th of May, 2013, 2000 CET.



The authorities of Dark Swords have finally tracked and all but put a stop on the activity of infamous Assassins Guild.
  • Assassins Guild, Elite Assassins Guild and Academy of Assassins cease to exist;
  • Characters that have been tricked into gaining a level with any of these guilds will have the levels in them reimbursed. They will be able to gain the amount of levels equal to total level in these 3 guilds in any guild or guilds of their choice;
  • Every single character has been granted the ability to become stealthy. Elves use Stealth as if it were a level 20 skill. Orcs, Dwarves, Men and Drow will be able to Stealth as if they had Level 1 Stealth;
  • The Backstab skill is now an innate ability for Elves. The multiplier of Backstab raises gradually from 1 at level 1 to 20 at the character level of 300;
  • The Open Wounds ability will be taught by licensed trainers in Schools of Fencing;
  • The Sleight of Hand skill is now only available through the use of Pickpocket Tools.
Aforementioned changes should go live after a server restart on 29th of May, 2013, 2000 CET.



We are pleased to inform you that the scientists of Dark Swords have determined a way to bring the diseases under control. However it is still possible to get some superpowers from former diseases. First of all, each and every disease (hereinafter: superpower) has only 1 level of effect. It is now not possible to get this effect in any way other than participating in a quest. These quests are not new and we are sure most of you have already found the NPCs you need to talk to in order to start such a quest.

In order to remove the effect of a superpower completely characters can use the following:
  • Player characters up to level 100 may use the Holy Water to remove the superpower;
  • Player characters up to level 500 may use the Aspen Cross to remove the superpower;
  • Player characters of any level may use the Holy Grail to remove the superpower

Here is a handy list of bonuses that are granted to a character under effects of a Superpower:

Superpower: Porphyry
  • Leech 30% of physical and magical damage dealt as Life;
  • 15% of innate chance to evade;
  • 15% of innate Suppression;
  • Mana regeneration rate is tripled
Superpower: Lycanthropy
  • Regenerate 20% of Maximum Life every other tick;
  • 15% of innate chance to hit;
  • 15% of innate Damage Absorb
Superpower: Hysteria
  • Leech 10% of physical and magical damage dealt as Mana;
  • 15% of innate chance to evade;
  • 15% of innate Suppression;
  • Mana regeneration rate is tripled
Superpower: Possession
  • Both magic and physical damage vary from 0 to the actual amount the character can hit for;
  • 15% of innate chance to evade;
  • 15% of innate chance to hit;
  • 30% to the chance of success of Extra Life skill (if the character already knows the skill);
  • 15% of damage taken is ignored.
These changes will go live after a server restart on 29th of May, 2013, 2000 CET.



The ability to steal from monsters and fellow players has undergone the following changes:
  • We have added a new item called Pickpocket Tools to the alchemist shops. This item allows whoever is using it to perform a Sleight of Hand action in an attempt to steal some gold or an item from the target. The chance of success for an attempt is determined by the level of both user and target and is affected by the skill in newly-added Sleight of Hand profession;
  • The Pickpocket Tools item cannot be used under effect of Impregnability, in rooms with Private Shops and Exchanges and Tournament Zones (Territory of Heroes).
  • Upon using the Pickpocket Tools item the Gloom affect will be inflicted on the user lasting a few seconds. It is not possible to use the item again while under affects of Gloom.
  • As we mentioned earlier a new profession has been added to the arsenal of player characters called Sleight of Hand. Levels of this profession directly influence the ability to successfully steal from someone and also provide opportunity to use a set of Pickpocket Tools without losing them in the process.
